On Sunday, March 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. we will be hosting a talk and movie screening on Mother Teresa in the Church hall. Msgr. Ambrose Sheehy will be giving a short talk and question period which will be followed by a screening of the documentary, “Mother Teresa: No Greater Love”. This was the film that Fr. Maderak encouraged people to see in its 2 day release in Canadian theatres in January.
Msgr. Sheehy spent 1.5 years with Mother Teresa and her sisters in the South Bronx. He was 1 of 4 priests who were called upon to help with the foundation of the new congregation of the “Missionary of Charity Fathers” and was appointed by Mother Teresa to be their treasurer. He knew her and her ministry well and we are happy that he will be able to share some of his experiences with her with us.
The documentary is an in-depth look at Mother Teresa, her beginnings, her ministry and her lasting legacy. From the official movie website:
Twenty-five years have passed since the death of Mother Teresa of Calcutta, sparking a renewed interest in this spiritual giant of the 20th century. Filmed on 5 continents and featuring unprecedented access to both institutional archives and the apostolates of the Missionaries of Charity, this film reveals not just who Mother Teresa was, but how her singular vision to serve Christ in the poor continues to be realized through the Missionaries of Charity today. This is far more than a documentary film. It is at once a soaring tribute to a spiritual icon, a powerful witness of authentic Christian charity, and a guidepost for all who seek hope in our turbulent times.

This would be a wonderful event to attend for Lent. In keeping with the spirit of almsgiving and helping the poor as Mother Teresa did, admission for this event is a non-perishable food item to be donated to the local food bank (WAES) or a monetary donation that will be used to help the poor.
