Catechesis Corner: Who are the Saints in Eucharistic Prayer 1?

Fr. Maderak always uses Eucharistic prayer 1, also known as the Roman Canon. This is the oldest of all the Eucharistic prayers, dating back to the 7th century. It is beautiful to think that when this prayer is used, it is essentially the same prayer that was said at Mass by the earlier Church, the Saints of old and brings home the unity, the universality of Holy Mother Church throughout history.

Have you ever noticed all the Saints that are mentioned in the Roman Canon? While some of the Saints are certainly recognizable, do we know who all these saints are? This article gives a good overview of all the Saints mentioned:
