On Saturday, June 6, Blessed Sacrament Parish in Toronto was honoured to welcome His Eminence Frank Cardinal Leo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Toronto, for the celebration of the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ – Corpus Christi – and to recognize the parish's 100th anniversary.

Cardinal Leo celebrated Mass with parishioners before leading a procession through the streets of the Yonge and Lawrence neighbourhood as a public witness of faith. His Eminence was accompanied by clergy, parishioners of all ages, the music ministry, and music students from Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts.

In his homily, Cardinal Leo reflected on the central place of the Eucharist in the life of the Church, reminding the faithful that the presence of Christ in the Blessed Sacrament is not confined to the church building but is meant to inspire and transform all that we do. Cardinal Leo also recognized Fr. Larry Marcille’s 30th anniversary of priestly ordination and thanked him for his dedicated ministry and faithful service to the people of Blessed Sacrament Parish. As part of the celebration, the parish presented Cardinal Leo with an icon of Our Lady of the Most Blessed Sacrament in gratitude for his presence and support during this centennial year.

We extend our sincere thanks to all the clergy, volunteers, musicians and the faithful whose presence made this celebration a memorable and grace-filled event.
